The faith of a child

We planted a squash seed in a pot, and I said that we were going to watch the squash grow. One of the littlest among us came right up to the pot and stared inside it, trusting that he was going to watch it grow. I had said that we were going to watch it grow, and he believed me. There is something about the naivete of the little boy that appealed to me. The ways of the kingdom of God often belong to children. Adults are often too cynical.
